CM Punjab Sets Up 8 Member committee for free plot Distribution

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a significant step toward addressing the housing crisis in the province by forming an eight-member committee responsible for the distribution of free plots. The initiative is part of a broader government plan to construct 100,000 homes annually, ensuring affordable housing for the underprivileged.

Committee to Finalize Terms for Free Plot Distribution

The newly formed committee is tasked with defining the terms of reference (TORs) for the fair and transparent distribution of free residential plots. These efforts align with Punjab’s long-term vision of providing sustainable housing solutions to low-income families.

Additionally, the committee will oversee the implementation of housing schemes, focusing on 3-marla and 5-marla plots. CM Maryam Nawaz has set a strict deadline, directing officials to complete the construction of 20,000 homes by February.

Progress in Housing Development Across Punjab

The Punjab government has already made substantial progress in its housing initiative. In 22 districts, a total of 35 housing schemes have been successfully completed, leading to the development of 2,807 plots. Moreover, construction efforts in seven districts are being accelerated, where nine housing schemes and 1,119 plots are currently under development.
